Texas Opens With Big Run-Rule Win Over UC-Davis
In their season opener on February 14 at Disch-Falk Field, Texas shook off an early scare-senior pitcher Ruger Riojas escaped a bases-loaded jam in the first-and then settled in. He struck out nine over five innings as the Longhorns exploded for three runs in the third, four in the fifth, and five in the seventh to enforce the run-rule at 12-2. Aiden Robbins thumped a two-run homer and RBI double, and freshman Anthony Pack Jr. went 3-for-3 with two RBIs. Adrian Rodriguez had two hits, and Ethan Mendoza crushed a three-run homer. Max Grubbs closed the game for Texas.
